Looking back at the past, looking forward to the future - AP program faculty meeting held

On the afternoon of September 9, 2022, all teachers of the AP program gathered to review the 10-year development history of the program and look forward to a bright future together. President Wang Liping, Vice President Gu Yongmei and Assistant President Xu Lan attended the meeting. Deputy Director Yu Yuefang presided over the meeting.

First, Assistant Principal Xu Lan introduced the development process and achievements of the project through historical data and student cases. She affirmed the efforts made by the teachers for the development of the project and the growth of the students, and hoped that the teachers could make continuous efforts, inspire the students, teach the students practical skills, nourish the students with compassion, and help the students grow up healthily.

Mr. Feng Jian, the teaching and research team leader, introduced the AP program curriculum system with the characteristics of the Affiliated High School, and was expected to highlight the characteristics and improve the teaching quality of AP programs by implementing a routine. He proposed to use "projects" to drive course teaching, encourage all teachers to actively participate in carrying out the four projects, and further clarify the teaching routine of lesson preparation, classes, after-school guidance and teaching evaluation to other teachers. He also proposed ongoing professional development for the project teachers through activities such as listening to and evaluating lessons and demonstrating high-quality lessons. Teachers are expected to do a good job in teaching and research, and write high-quality education and teaching papers to promote teaching.

Ms. Wang Weiwei, the group leader of Foreign Language Teaching and Research, introduced the AP English curriculum system and featured course activities. She also pointed out that foreign language teachers are willing to cooperate with teachers of various subjects to help students better grasp the subject terminology, and lay a good language foundation for subject course learning and reading original literature.

Mr. Tao Chang from the Guidance Office shared the three-year guidance plan for the AP program and looked forward to cooperating with teachers of various disciplines to help students move on to higher education.

As a teacher, Vice Principal Gu Yongmei shared the characteristics of the students in the project class that were different from those in the regular class. She believes that children thirst for knowledge and have a passion for learning. President Gu hopes to work with teachers to elevate the quality of education. Principal Wang Liping fully recognized the efforts made by the AP program to promote the diversified development and personalized growth of the students. She hopes that all the teachers of the project will take moral education as their responsibility, seriously study international education, and encourage teachers to explore and develop each student's strengths and expertise, teach students according to their aptitude, and better help adolescents become adults.

This AP teachers meeting coincides with Teachers' Day and Mid-Autumn Festival. Finally, the meeting ended with happy holiday wishes.
