Visit of German Herder Grammar School

May 8 to 18, 2013, 16 students and 2 teachers of our sister-school, German Herder Grammar School, came to our school and communicated with us for 10 days.

On the morning of May 9, Principal Liu Hu welcomed the German teachers and students in the reception room. Vice Principal Li Min, Vice Principal Liang Yuancao, Director Xu Lan, Teacher Zhao Min and Ding Rui also attended the welcome meeting.Then, Director Xu and the teachers of the center led the guests to visit the teaching environment and facilities.

During that time, the German students settled in our students’ apartment to experience Chinese cultural deeply. Our student volunteers provided not only weekend homestays, but also considerate guides for the German students. To experience Chinese school culture, the German students joined our biology class, music class, math and other classes, and studied with our students; to get a comprehensive understanding of Chinese traditional culture, they learned paper-cutting, calligraphy, also visited the Forbidden City,Summer Palace, Great Wall, Lama Temple, Imperial College, Liulichang etc.; to know more about contemporary China, they also visited the China Science and Technology Museum, the National Museum and the Olympic Park, and watched a fantastic acrobatic performance.

The ten-day learning exchange provides a good platform for the two schools. The teachers and students from different countries expanded their horizons and enhanced their friendship.
