Teachers from home and abroad gather at the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University to exchange global wisdom teaching experience

A delegation composed of officials from the UNESCO Institute for Information Technology in Education (UNESCO IITE), teachers from the Institute of Smart Learning of Beijing Normal University and teachers from other countries visited the High School affiliated to Beijing Normal University on November 28, 2023 to exchange experiences in smart teaching. President Wang Liping received the UNESCO IITE delegation and welcomed the delegation's visit.

During the visit to Beijing, the delegation visited the High School affiliated to Beijing Normal University in order to understand the deep historical and cultural accumulation of the school and breakthroughs in digital education reform.

After visiting the campus, the UNESCO IITE delegation, together with four award-winning international teachers, witnessed a demonstration of precision teaching results of English writing in our school. Through videos of lessons and in person commentary, they learned about the application and effect of "process data feedback technology" in daily teaching. 2E2A6013.jpg

Through the "process data feedback technology", students' output in the writing class is not only recorded in detail, but also can be compared and displayed at any time during teaching, and the thinking process can be quickly reproduced with one click, so that more classroom presentations can be given feedback, and the class can be smoother without increasing the extra burden on teachers and students, thus improving learning outcomes.

 At the end of the presentation, the delegation of teachers got hands-on experience with the technology with such activities as sentence writing, brainstorming and mind mapping, and explaining. The teachers used the technology with great interest and enthusiasm. 

During the day's exchange session, international teachers from Russia, Indonesia, Tunisia and Latvia also shared their experiences in applying smart technologies in teaching, including ChatGPT, ICT and AR. Everyone agreed that smart technology could make the classroom more interesting, but stressed the importance of developing students' ability to think independently and critically. 

Since September 2022, with the support of the Education Commission, the school has actively applied innovations in digital information technology, respectively utilizing "one teach one learn" SaaS platform smart pen classroom in the English and math classes of senior one.  After nearly a year of applied research, the teaching of pilot subjects has achieved phased results, the learning process of students has been recorded in detail and accurately analyzed, and the classroom efficiency has been improved. 

Under the background of digital education, our school is guided by the development of students' core literacy, adheres to the forward-looking concept of digital transformation of education, and will make full use of digital innovation and intelligent technology to further deepen teaching reform and promote educational innovation and development.
